Bag size is a merchandising decision dressed up as a packaging decision. 250g is the default retail size for a reason. It's an accessible price point, it gets used before it goes stale, and it brings the customer back sooner — which is the whole point of an own-brand line. 1kg reads as trade or heavy-home-use. The unit economics look better on paper, but a household opening a kilo bag is drinking increasingly stale coffee by week three, and they'll notice. Shelf space matters
