Bean to cup machines report faults by category rather than by exact part. Learning the five common categories means your team clears the easy ones in a minute and only calls out for the ones that actually need a visit.
Water side errors cover no supply, an empty tank, a closed isolation valve or an air lock after a filter change. These are almost always clearable on site, and after any filter change you should expect one and know how to purge the air out.
Waste and access errors mean the grounds drawer is full, the drip tray is out of position or a door switch is not making contact. Machines refuse to brew rather than overflow, which is sensible, and reseating the drawer squarely clears it.
Brew unit errors mean the infuser has jammed or has not returned to its home position, usually from a build-up of coffee oils or from being reassembled slightly out of alignment. Remove it, rinse in warm water, dry, and refit until it clicks. Heating and pressure errors are the ones to stop at: element, thermoblock, NTC sensor or pump faults are engineer work, and repeated resets on those risk further damage.
Once, yes. Repeatedly, no. Water, waste and door errors are safe to clear on site. Heating, sensor and pump faults should be left alone and reported, because repeated resets can turn a small fault into a bigger bill.
Air in the line. The machine reads no flow and reports a water fault. Purge water through until it runs steady and the error clears.
The sensor needs the drawer out for several seconds to register the reset, and the drawer must be seated squarely. If it persists, the microswitch or sensor contact is dirty.
For a day or two, yes. Beyond that, no. The prompt is based on volume through the machine, and ignoring it is how a cheap descale becomes an element replacement.
The exact code, what the machine was doing when it appeared, how often it recurs and what you have already tried. That commonly turns two visits into one.
